About the School
Connex Education is partnering with a specialist SEND school in Sheffield to recruit a Psychology Graduate for a SEND Teaching Assistant position on a full-time basis. There is potential for this temporary role to become permanent for the ideal candidate. The school supports pupils of all ages with ADHD, SEMH, PMLD, MLD and ASC.
About the Role
- Offer mentoring support and guidance to pupils in a supportive relationship.
- Support pupils in setting and working towards personal and academic objectives.
- Apply your knowledge and expertise to benefit pupils in specific areas.
- Help pupils build new skills and navigate challenges.
- Serve as a positive role model and provide encouragement to pupils.
- Build supportive and trusting relationships with a diverse range of pupils.
You will Need:
- Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written
- Active listening skills to recognise and understand each pupil’s individual needs and concerns.
- Empathy and the capacity to connect with pupils from varied backgrounds.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities to establish rapport with pupils.
- Patience and the capability to offer constructive feedback.
