QTS English and Maths Home Tutor
Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and qualified English and Maths Tutor with QTS to deliver high-quality, personalised instruction to students across Key Stages 2–4. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, proven teaching experience, and a commitment to helping learners achieve their full potential in both core subjects.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in English and Maths, tailored to individual student needs
- Assess student progress regularly and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
- Prepare students for SATs, GCSEs, and other assessments with targeted support
- Set clear learning objectives and provide constructive feedback
- Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to support diverse learning styles
- Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding student progress and goals
- Maintain accurate records of student achievements and lesson plans
- Provide one-to-one or small group tutoring, both in-person and online
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- ✅ QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) in England
- Degree in English, Mathematics, Education, or a related field
- Strong subject knowledge in both English and Maths
- ️ Proficiency with online teaching platforms and digital resources
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ️ Strong organisational and time-management abilities
- Ability to motivate and inspire students of varying abilities
Desirable Experience
- Prior experience teaching in UK schools or tutoring privately
- Experience working with EAL (English as an Additional Language) learners
- Familiarity with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) strategies
