About the role
Connex Education is working with a mainstream secondary school in Sunderland who are recruiting for a Counsellor/Support Assistant to work full-time, working with students across KS3-KS4.
About the school
The secondary school is based in Sunderland and focuses on creating a positive environment where every student can grow and excel. They are looking for a Counsellor/Support Assistant who will be working with students who require additional support due to a wide range of social emotional and mental health needs including anxiety, bereavement, domestic abuse and bullying.
Assignment Details
This is a full time role working Monday to Friday 8:15am start until 3:15pm, experience working at Key Stage 3 and 4 is essential for this role.

Person Specification
- Hold a Relevant Qualification in SEND, SEMH or Teaching Assistant
- Experience of planning and evaluating learning activities.
- Experience of counselling, working with students with SEMH needs.
- Have experience of supporting students in a secondary school or similar setting
- Be confident working with small groups or on a 1:1 basis
- A valid First Aid Certificate.
- Have a current DBS on the update service or willing to apply for a new one with Connex
