About the Role
Connex Education is recruiting School Youth Support Workers to work in partnership with a school in Stoke-on-Trent. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in behavioural control and youth support, or for graduates passionate about working with young people facing social, emotional, and behavioural challenges. This role is currently Temporary. but has the opportunity to be taken on as full-time permanent staff.
The School
The partner school supports a diverse range of pupils experiencing behavioural difficulties, including those with:
- Attachment difficulties
- Trauma backgrounds
- Social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
- Challenging and complex behaviours

What You’ll Need
✅ Previous experience in behavioural control within a school, youth work, care, or similar setting
✅ Ability to implement de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour management strategies
✅ Confidence and composure when managing challenging situations
✅ Strong communication skills and ability to build positive, trusting relationships with young people
✅ Calm, empathetic, and solution-focused attitude
✅ Current DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply through Connex Education
✅ Proof of right to work in the UK (required to apply)
