About the Role:
Connex Education are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join a specialist secondary school in Hartlepool. The provision provides education for young people aged 11-16 with a range of special educational needs, including SEMH, autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, adapting your teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of our students. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who benefit from specialist support and smaller class sizes.

Assignment Details:
- Plan and deliver differentiated science lessons across biology, chemistry, and physics
- Develop individualised learning programmes to support students with varying needs
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staff
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to reviews
- Support students in achieving their potential through alternative qualifications and pathways
- Contribute to the school’s positive behaviour management approach

As a successful SEND Teacher with Connex Education Partnership, you will possess:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Degree in Science or related subject
- Experience teaching science at secondary level
- Understanding of special educational needs and inclusive teaching practices
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
- Experience working with students with SEN
- Knowledge of alternative qualifications (Entry Level, Functional Skills)
- Additional training in autism or ADHD support
- Experience with sensory learning approaches
