Connex Education is working in partnership with a well-established secondary school in Sheffield to recruit a committed Science Teacher for a full-time, long-term position.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive Science department, with the potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate. You’ll also be paid to scale from Day One, ensuring your qualifications and teaching experience are recognised from the outset.

Assignment Details
This is a full-time, long-term position, working 32.5 hours per week, term time only.
The successful candidate will take on the full responsibilities of a classroom teacher, including:
• Planning and preparing lessons
• Delivering the full Science teaching timetable
• Assessing and marking pupils’ work
• Monitoring and supporting pupil progress
• Attending departmental and school meetings
• Contributing to the wider life of the Science department and school
Person Specification
To be considered for this role, you will need:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Recent experience teaching Science as a classroom teacher within a UK secondary school
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Secure subject knowledge across the Science curriculum
• A commitment to supporting pupil progress and achievement
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• The Right to Work in the UK

Due to the nature of this long-term teaching position, priority will be given to candidates who hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification and have recent experience teaching Science as the lead classroom teacher within a UK secondary school.
