Role: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Stoke-on-Trent, ST11
Hours: Monday to Friday
We are currently seeking a SEMH Teaching Assistant to join us at Connex Education to support Secondary pupils with complex SEMH needs. This role offers a challenging but rewarding environment where you will play a vital part in ensuring the pupil has the support they need to thrive. This role is full time, 8.30 – 4pm, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help Deliver personalised 1:1 assistance to students with SEMH SEN needs, ensuring engagement and progress in their learning.
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to suit individual learning styles and needs.
- Support students’ social and emotional development alongside their academic progress.
- Create a safe, supportive, and encouraging learning environment.
- Collaborate with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure cohesive support.
Essential
- Must be able to commit to 5 days per week
- Ability to motivate and inspire learners
- A clear vision and understanding of the requirements of pupils with special educational needs
- Ability to work with parents as partners
- Personal resilience
