About the Role.
Connex Education are recruiting a Teaching Assistant who has experience with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviours to work in an Alternative Provision (AP) in Runcorn.
About the School:
The AP that provides education for pupils who are no longer benefiting from a mainstream setting. Typically, students have been excluded from school or require support in order to stay in school. The staff here strive to provide provide high-quality, personalised education for all pupils so that they can make successful transitions back to mainstream education or employment. Most students who attend, have typically had a disrupted school like and have fallen below expected learning levels.
Assignment details:
The Headteacher at this AP is looking for a TA with experience supporting students both academically and emotionally commit until the end of the academic year. The working day is from 8.30am until 3.30pm.
Person specification:
- Experience of supporting children and young people struggle to manage their emotions, behaviour, and relationships, which can impact their learning and overall well-being.
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of SEMH, in either a mainstream,SEND or residential setting.
- Experience working in Alternative provisions, and with SEMH and SEND required.
- Have a full, enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for a new one.
