About Us
Connex Education Partnership is a dedicated and specialised provider of educational professionals across a range of education settings. Our mission is to provide meaningful, tailored, and supportive one-to-one tuition for children and young people who are currently not attending school, delivered in a setting that best suits their individual needs.
The Role
Our Alternative Provision team is looking for a passionate and resilient SEMH Tutor with a genuine commitment to supporting young people who face barriers to education. You will provide personalised, one-to-one tuition and mentoring support to pupils in the Rubery area who are currently unable to access mainstream education.
The pupils you will support often have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and may have experienced school avoidance, anxiety, behavioural challenges, trauma, or disrupted educational journeys. This role requires flexibility, creativity, and the ability to build positive relationships that encourage engagement and progress.
This role ideally requires Monday to Friday availability, though a minimum of three days a week is a necessity, with sessions typically lasting 2 hours per day. This is a minimum commitment, and additional hours are available for those seeking increased work.

Deliver one-to-one tuition and mentoring support for pupils with SEMH needs.

Plan and deliver personalised learning programmes tailored to individual learning goals and outcomes.

Adapt teaching strategies to engage learners who may be reluctant, anxious, or disengaged from education.

Build strong, trusting relationships to encourage consistent engagement and progress.
-
Work closely with parents, carers, schools, local authorities, and other professionals to support each learner’s development.
-
Monitor progress and provide regular feedback and session reports.
-
Create a safe, supportive, and motivating learning environment that promotes positive outcomes.
