SEN Teacher – Dudley (DY8)

Pay: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance

Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term (Full Academic Year)
Location: Dudley (DY8)

Connex Education are working with a highly supportive specialist school in the Dudley area that caters for secondary-aged pupils with a range of additional needs.

Although students are of secondary age, learning is delivered through a personalised curriculum that is broadly aligned with primary learning pathways. This role would suit teachers with experience in SEN, Primary, Alternative Provision, or PRU settings who are passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs

  • Teach secondary-aged students working at primary curriculum levels

  • Support pupils with a range of needs including SEMH, Autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, and learning needs

  • Create a positive and structured learning environment

  • Build strong relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress

  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, families, and external agencies

  • Monitor progress and celebrate individual achievements

We Are Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching pupils with additional needs

  • SEN school, Alternative Provision, or PRU experience is highly desirable

  • Primary-trained teachers looking to move into a specialist setting are encouraged to apply

  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills

  • A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach

  • Ability to provide two professional references, including your most recent employer

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
