Are you a passionate, experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for supply or long term work starting after half term?
A prestigious Special Primary School in the Whitley area are looking for SEND experienced teaching assistants to join their fantastic team! Within this role you will be working pupils ages 4–11-year-old with additional needs such as Autism on a one-to-one basis, with small groups as well as general classroom support.
Their value is ‘empower pupils through recognising every child’s potential to learn and giving them sufficient quality, uninterrupted time to respond to personalised learning opportunities’. As well as finding new and creative ways to overcome barriers so each child can reach their full potential.
You will be helping the pupil with class activities, keeping record of progress, and supporting teachers in managing class behaviour. This is a full time, with the potential to go temp-perm, so commitment is key!
Prior to appointment, a classroom trial will be required. Because of this we will need to ensure we have full vetting and compliance checks in line with Safer Recruitment in Education.
Essential requirements:
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum
- Awareness and knowledge of SEN/D
- Provide a flexible and adaptable approach of teaching and supporting to meet each child’s needs- each child has an education heath care plan (EHCP) (Holistic approach to pupil development)
- Relevant qualifications e.g., Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning
- Enhanced DBS on the Update service or willing to get a new one
