SEND Teaching Assistant – Stockton-On-Tees £500 per week | Full-time | September 2025 start
About the role
Connex Education seeks a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant for a pupil referral unit in Teesside. You’ll support Key Stage 3 & 4 pupils with special educational needs who are at risk of exclusion from mainstream schools.
About the School/Organisation:
- Support vulnerable students with learning difficulties and SEMH needs
- Work with pupils who have EHCPs to help them achieve their goals
- Prevent educational exclusion through targeted intervention
- Make a real difference during critical stages of young people’s education

As a successful SEND Teaching Assistant with Connex Education Partnership, you will possess:
- Hold a relevant Qualification in SEND or Teaching Assistant
- Have experience working with individuals with SEN
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Confident in your behaviour management skills
- Calm, resilient and able to communicate well with young people
- Hold a current DBS on the update service or willing to apply for a new one through Connex
- Team Teach trained- preferred
- Be able to show proof of work in the UK
