SEND Teacher for Home Tuition

Location: Handsworth, Birmingham
**Are you looking for a role that supports children currently out of education? Do you want the freedom to manage your own diary and the ability to tailor teaching to meet the individual’s needs? **
About the role
Connex Education is looking for experienced Qualified Teachers to join our Home Tuition team for an exciting opportunity working with a student in the Handsworth area, who is currently out of education.
The student presents with difficulties related to his social communication; therefore, struggles with their communication, alongside the difficulty to process verbal information. Due to a lack of social skill knowledge the student has limited success interacting with their peers and can resent as rude to adults leading to the experience of social vulnerability.
We require a qualified teacher who has experience working with SEN and would be able to support the development of the individual’s confidence with education as they are currently working within the ‘moderately low – extremely low’ range. These difficulties with academic tasks could be associated with the limited opportunities that have been available for this student.
Tuition takes place within the student’s home in B20, and ideally the teacher would be equipped with the skills to tailor the sessions to meet the individuals needs whilst also offering a calm nurturing approach. Tuition typically consisting of three to four sessions per week.
This flexible role allows you to manage your own schedule while working closely with students outside of a traditional classroom environment, giving you a unique chance to directly witness the impact of your teaching on their learning progress.
We are seeking a tutor who can foster the development of each student’s confidence and skill set. As a Home Tutor, a dynamic teaching style is key, along with the ability to quickly identify areas for improvement and adjust strategies when working one-on-one.
