About the role
Connex Education seeks a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant for a Teesside-area pupil referral unit. The role supports Key Stage 3 and 4 students with special educational needs and disabilities who face permanent exclusion from mainstream schools.

Assignment Details:
Starting September 2025, this Monday-Friday role supports students with Education, Health and Care Plans to achieve academic goals while remaining in mainstream education. The position requires candidates experienced in working with diverse special educational needs who demonstrate determination and genuine commitment to positively impacting children’s futures.

As a successful SEND Teaching Assistant with Connex Education Partnership, you will possess:
- Hold a relevant Qualification in SEND or Teaching Assistant
- Have experience working with individuals with SEN
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Confident in your behaviour management skills
- Calm, resilient and able to communicate well with young people
- Hold a current DBS on the update service or willing to apply for a new one through Connex
- Team Teach trained- preferred
- Be able to show proof of work in the UK
