About the role

Connex Education is seeking  dedicated full-time SEND Teaching Assistants for a specialised Morpeth, Northumberland SEN School for January 2026.

This vital role, paying up to £475 per week, focuses on supporting students with profound learning difficulties and complex special educational needs. Working with students who have profound learning difficulties requires exceptional patience, empathy, and specialised skills. You’ll be supporting young people who may have severe cognitive impairments, multiple disabilities, or complex medical needs that significantly impact their learning and daily functioning.

As a successful SEND Teaching Assistant with Connex Education Partnership, you will possess:

  • Hold a relevant Qualification in SEND or Teaching Assistant- level 2 or level 3
  • Have experience working with individuals with SEN
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Confident in your behaviour management skills
  • Calm, resilient and able to communicate well with young people
  • Hold a current DBS on the update service or willing to apply for a new one through Connex
  • Team Teach trained- preferred
  • Be able to show proof of work in the UK
