Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Resource Base in West Bromwich
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join a resource base in West Bromwich. This is a full-time position supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and complex learning needs.

Working closely with the class teachers and SENCO, you will play a key role in helping pupils access the curriculum, develop independence, and achieve their full potential in a supportive and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual learning needs

  • Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural development

  • Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and external professionals

  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the class teacher

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs

  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • An understanding of autism and/or complex needs (desirable)

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are advantageous but not essential
