We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team of exceptional supply staff in Swadlincote. Roles with us consist of either day-to-day supply, where you will work on an ad-hoc basis to cover absence where and when needed, or long-term supply, which may suit you better if you would prefer set days in one local school, for a longer period of time. And, with many of our staff going on to find permanent work in our schools, we may even be able to find you your forever job!
Within this role, you will be required to work alongside individuals and groups of children with additional needs, in our mainstream schools. You will provide one-to-one support, assist with classroom management, and help tailor learning activities to meet individual learning needs.
As the ideal candidate, you will have:
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification, or at least 3 months’ experience as a Teaching Assistant
- Kind, patience and enthusiasm, and the ability to work under guidance of the class teacher but also to your own initiative
- A commitment to supporting all children to reach their full potential
- Knowledge of SEND, and experience working with children with SEND
- The ability to communicate effectively with children and colleagues, in order to build relationships quickly
- A DBS on the update service, or the willingness to apply for a new one
- The ability to provide us with 2 professional references covering the last 2 years.
