SEND Teacher

Salary: £600 – £750 per week (dependent on experience)

Start date: ASAP– Long term ongoing.   

About the role:

Connex Education is working with an SEND School who are recruiting for a teacher to work full- time with students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

The school itself caters for pupils with a range of needs including Autism and Physcial Disabilites. As a SEND Teacher, you will be delivering a diverse curriculum through individualised learning plans. You would be expected to work in a heavily staffed classroom, made up of 8 students and 4 experienced Teaching Assistants.

All staff at the school aim to provide pupils with a nurturing and engaging learning environment. They are looking for a SEND Teacher who is hard working, resilient and who wants to make a difference to pupils’ education by supporting them.

Assignment Details

  • Plan, implement lessons that cater to the specific needs of students with SEND.
  • Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of students in the classroom.
  • Monitor and assess student progress
  • Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, special support staff, and external professionals to promote a unified approach to education.

Person Specification

  • Experience working with children with SEND/SEMH needs.
  • Hold a Qualified Teacher Status certificate.
  • Knowledge of child development and learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must hold a DBS on update service or willing to apply for one. 
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt lessons as needed.
  • Good organization and multitasking abilities.
