About the Role
Connex Education is working with a growing and dynamic SEN Primary School in Barking & Dagenham, recruiting for passionate and experienced SEND Teachers (QTS) to join their team full-time. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated educator to work with pupils with a range of complex needs in a supportive and innovative environment.

The school is a thriving special educational needs (SEN) institution catering to students aged 4 to 16 with a variety of complex needs, including profound and multiple learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, autistic spectrum conditions, and communication disorders.

Assignment Details

Person Specification
We are looking for an exceptional SEND Teacher who meets the following criteria:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential, with experience in SEN or mainstream schools.
- Experience with SEND Learners: Proven experience teaching pupils with SEND, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, or moderate/severe learning difficulties.
- Knowledge of Differentiation: Ability to deliver and adapt lessons to meet diverse learner needs.
- Curriculum Knowledge: Familiarity with a range of SEND strategies and specialized teaching approaches.
- Personal Care and Physical Needs: Willingness to support pupils with personal care or physical needs where required.
- Collaboration Skills: Experience working closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals.
- Resilience and Adaptability: Patience and flexibility to handle challenging behaviors and create a positive classroom environment.
- DBS Check: A valid DBS on the update service or willingness to provide a new one.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in using alternative communication systems, such as Makaton or PECS.
- Familiarity with strategies for managing sensory processing needs and behavior.
