About the role
Connex Education is partnering with a SEND school in Brecon to recruit an experienced Learning Support Assistant. While prior experience in special needs is not required, a solid understanding of the needs of learners with ALN (Additional Learning Needs) and/or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges would be beneficial. Candidates with a background in mainstream education or experience as care or support workers will be well-suited for this role.

Assignment Details
As a Learning Support Assistant in a SEND school, we are seeking individuals who are adaptable and capable of working across all Key Stages. You should be enthusiastic about contributing to a variety of curriculum activities and ideas. The ideal candidate will support pupils in engaging with and enjoying enriching experiences, while also understanding the importance of offering both strong support and suitable challenges.

Person Specification
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Care/Support Worker
- Must be 19 or over.
- Must have UK school-based experience.
- Strong knowledge of learners with ALN.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must hold a Child and Adult DBS on update service or willing to apply for one.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Flexibility.
- Good organization and multitasking abilities
