About the Role
Connex Education is working in partnership with a highly successful all-age special school in Braintree to recruit SEND Teaching Assistants to join their team from September 2025. The school caters for students aged 3–19 with a wide range of severe and complex learning difficulties, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
This is a fantastic opportunity for a caring and motivated individual to work in a modern, purpose-built setting with excellent facilities, supporting pupils through tailored educational programmes designed around their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide classroom-based and 1:1 support to students with complex SEND
- Assist with the implementation of EHCPs and individual learning plans
- Support pupils with communication, sensory, and behavioural needs
- Work as part of a large, experienced team of teaching staff and specialists
- Encourage student independence and engagement through structured routines
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Assignment Details
- Working Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Term time only
- Long-term ongoing role
Person Specification
- Experience supporting children with additional needs – desirable but not essential
- Strong team player with a willingness to learn and grow
- Flexible to work across all age ranges (EYFS to post-16)
- A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach
- Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
- DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Connex
