SEND Teaching Assistant
£425 – £ 500 per week depending on experience
Connex Education are seeking a SENDTeaching Assistant to work in a Special school located in Bury, Greater Manchester.
About the School:
This School is an educational provision for pupils aged 11-16 years. All pupils have an Education Health & Care Plan and have been excluded from mainstream school.
The schools has a bespoke timetable of social and emotional development, mental health well-being and academic progression. They create a calm and engaging environment where pupils progress. Inspiring every young person to fulfil their true potential by creating a learning environments that are innovative, motivational and impactful on pupils lives.
Assignment details:
Monday-Friday 5 days a week, looking for full time staff for regular supply
Person specification:
- Experience of supporting children and young people struggle to manage their emotions, behaviour, and relationships, which can impact their learning and overall well-being Be able to get to know pupils and get a good understanding of needs.
- Experience working with SEND such as Autism and ADHD
- Excellent communication skills, Empathetic and Patient , being self-regulated and calm. With a positive supportive attitude.
- Knowledge of Social emotional and mental health , and understanding of SEMH issues, strategies, and interventions.
- Be able to interact well with pupils and staff and able to work well as a team.
- Able to provide a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
