About the Role
Connex Education is working in partnership with a SEND School in Wigan to help recruit a SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2026.
In this rewarding role, you will be supporting pupils accross the whole school, aged between 4-11 years with Social, Emtional and Mental Health Needs and Autism.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of supporting children with additional needs / challenging behaviours and be able to promote independence and encourage students to take responsibility for their actions.

Assignment Details
This SEND Teaching Assistant role is full-time, Monday to Friday, (8:30am to 3:30pm).
Person Specification
- Experience of supporting pupils with Autism and additional needs.
- Be understanding and empathetic with the ability to help children self -regulate.
- Promoting life skills and empowering pupils by building confidence.
- Be engaging and using a person-centered approach.
- Be willing to provide personal care.
- Able to provide a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
