Connex Education is working in partnership with a Secondary SEND School in Wirral and they are seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team to cover absences on a flexible basis.
About the School
This fantatsic SEND School caters for pupils aged 11-19 years with Special Needs. They offer a high quality Education in a highly engaging environment which nutures, supports and challenges the pupils. All pupils have an EHCP and have been diagnosed with complex needs including Autism, SLD and PMLD. As a SEND Teaching Assistant at this School you will support pupils to develop into sucessfull young adults and to be as independent as possible.

Assignment Details
This SEND Teaching Assistant role is full-time is felxible so you can pick and choose which days you would like to work, but we di have full-time and long-term roles available, with the chance of a direct contract for the right candidate. The hours will consist of working 8.30am until 3.30pm. You must be adaptable and able to work in a range of calssrooms throughout the School.
Person Specification
- Experience of supporting pupils with complex needs and confident managing challenging behaviour.
- Be understanding and empathetic with the ability to help children self -regulate.
- Able to work as a team with dedicated staff to help create a calm and nurturing learning environment.
- have a good understanding of Special Needs and be willing to help with personal care.
- Able to provide a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
