About the role:
Connex Education are seeking several SEND Teaching Assistants to work in SEND Schools across Wirral. This is a flexible role where you can pick and choose how many days you would like to work. You will be covering sicknesses and planned absences. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who wants to build up experience around their current job, studies or personal circumstances. It is an ideal way to get your foot in the door of local SEND Schools.
About the School:
The SEND Schools we are working with cater for pupils aged 2-19 years with a range of needs including Autism, SEMH, SLD, Downs Syndrome, GDD and PMLD. As a SEND Teaching Assistant you will be required to support pupils on a 1:1 basis, to help break down barriers to learning and to assist with personal care. You will provide emotional support, manage behaviour, help to develop life skills and will work as a team with staff members to create a calm and engaging learning environment.
Assignment details:
We have work available now and the hours are Monday-Friday 8.30am until 3.30pm. You can either work day to day or if you are looking for a long- term role we can offer both full-time and long-term. There is a chance of a direct contract with the Schools for the new academic year.

Person specification:
- Experience of supporting children or young adults with additional needs in a School or residential setting
- Be able to provide emotional support, build relationships with pupils and help them to be the best version of themselves.
- Able to communicate well and be patient and able to manage behaviour
- Be able to build relationships with pupils and staff
- Able to adapt to different classes and settings
- Be willing to assist with personal care
- Be able to interact well with pupils and staff and able to work well as a team.
- Able to provide a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
