About the Role

SEND teaching assistant
-
8:15 – 3:30, 5 days per week

Starting in September 2026 and expected to continue for the entire academic year

Working 1-2-1 with pupils requiring SEND support
-
Also working in general classroom environments offering support to the pupils and class teacher

Working in close collaboration with the class teacher and other relevant parties and stakeholders
-
Promoting positive behaviour and helping to create an inclusive classroom environment.

Preparing learning resources and assisting with classroom organization.

Supporting children with additional learning needs where required.

Person Specification
To be considered for this role candidates must have / be able to demonstrate:
-
A L2/L3 Teaching Assistant qualification and/or exceptional relatable experience of working as a SEND Teaching Assistant.

Experience of working as a SEND teaching Assistant in a British curriculum school for a minimum of two terms.

Full enhanced DBS certificate.

Completion of the Connex Education Onboarding Process.

The ability to show a genuine desire and passion for working as a teaching assistant.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong rapport building skills, with pupils and with co-workers.

A minimum of 2 school based references
