SEND Learning Support Assistants Required – East London
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? Connex Education is thrilled to be recruiting staff for a variety of schools in the redbridge area who are looking for staff to support pupils with SEND. This may be within a special school, or within a resourced provison within a mainstream school.
- Position: Learning Support Assistants

- Daily Rates: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications
About the role
- Working within special Schools serving pupils aged 4-16 years old
- Supporting students with a variety of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
Key Responsibilities
- Support students across all areas, demonstrating an optimistic and aspirational attitude towards their development.
- Be willing to undertake necessary training to acquire skills required to work effectively in a specialist setting.
- Collaborate with the staff team to ensure the needs of pupils are prioritized and met effectively.
- Embrace opportunities and challenges presented within the role, contributing to the overall success of the school community.
Selection Criteria
- Have experience or an interest in working with children with Learning Difficulties within either an educational setting or transferable sectors such as care & support work.
- Hold an NVQ Level 2 or above (desirable).
- Be willing to undertake the relevant online CPD courses/training prior to starting the role.
- Prioritize the needs of pupils and demonstrate a willingness to learn new roles.
- Work effectively as part of a team, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Are flexible in their approach to working with pupils, adapting to meet their diverse needs.
