About the role
We are seeking dynamic, enthusiastic, and resilient Teaching Assistants to support children and young people with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) in specialist settings.
As part of a class-based team, you will support individual and small group learning, helping to provide pupils with access to a broad and balanced curriculum that meets their individual needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with complex needs.
Key responsibilities
- Support teaching and learning for pupils with SLD and PMLD
- Facilitate access to a therapeutic, play-based curriculum
- Assist with ‘real life’ learning tasks to develop independence
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of personalised learning programmes
- Provide a positive, supportive, and safe environment
- Attend scheduled training and team meetings as part of your professional development
Person specification
- Some knowledge or experience of working with SEND
- A passion for improving outcomes for children with complex needs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Resilience and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality practices
- Willingness to engage with CPD and training opportunities
