Support Worker / Special Education Needs Assistant

£95 to £110 per day depending on experience
8:30 to 5pm – Monday to Friday, to start on the 14th April
About the role:
Connex Education are working with a very creative and theraputic SEND Schools in Sheffield who are seeking support workers/teaching assistant who are interested in working in SEND Schools as a SEND TA.
About the School:
The schools we work with cater for pupils aged between 7 and 19 with a range of needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and all have EHCP’s. The role of a SEND TA will include supporting pupils both academically and emotionally as well as promoting life skills.This specialist educational setting follows a Practical Skills Therapeutic Education approach. This unique school integrates national curriculum subjects—maths, English, science, history, and geography—into hands-on traditional land and craft work, providing students with a contextualized and immersive learning experience.
Assignment details:
We have more than one role and there is a chance of a direct contract with a School.

Person specification:
- Experience of supporting pupils with SEND either in a School or residential setting as a support worker.
- Confident in dealing with challenging behaviour
- The ability to build relationships with staff and pupils.
- Able to provide a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
