About the role:
Connex Education are working with a SEND FE college in Huyton who are seeking several support workers who are interested in working as a learning supporting assistant.

About the School:
This FE college caters for students 19 plus with very high complex needs combined with challenging behaviours. They specialise in sensory and behaviour needs through a curriculum designed to develop skills for preparation into adulthood.
As a support worker at this college, you will be supporting students on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis. You will be supporting them emotionally, socially and academically as well as promoting life skills and promoting independence. You will be assisting with personal care. As well as working in the classroom, the role involves working outside and accessing the community.
We will provide you with CPD to help transition your skills into Education.
Assignment details:
We have full-time long term roles available as well as day to day bookings to cover sicknesses.
The working days are Monday-Friday on usually 8.30am-3.30pm but depends on the student you are supporting.

Person specification:
- Experience of supporting pupils with additional needs as a support worker.
- Be willing to provide personal care.
- Confident in dealing with challenging behaviour
- The ability to build relationships with staff and pupils.
- Able to provide a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
