Connex Education is looking for dedicated, proactive and adaptable primary teaching assistants who have experience supporting children with special educational needs as well as experience providing general support in primary school classrooms.
About the Schools:
We are currently recruiting for September roles, and we are seeking Level 2/3 qualified teaching assistants for various roles in primary schools around Southport. We will also welcome applications from ‘unqualified teaching assistants’, who have relevant experience in a primary school setting.
Connex work in partnership with primary schools in the following areas in Southport:
- Ainsdale
- Birkdale
- Southport (centre)
- Churchtown
- Banks
About the role:
As a primary teaching assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to provide tailored support to children with additional needs; small group interventions; and general classroom support. You will have the option of working part-time or full-time and be flexible around the number of days you want to work.

Qualifications and requirements:
- Level 2/3 teaching assistant qualification is desirable.
- Experience supporting children with SEN is essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to adapt to different learning needs.
- It is essential that you have a DBS on the update service, or willing to obtain a new one through Connex.
