Role: Teaching Assistant
Rate of pay: £425 – £475 P/W
Location: Harborne, B32
**About the role**
As a teaching assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting both pupils and teachers to create an effective and positive learning environment. You’ll work with individual pupils or small groups to reinforce learning, help those who need extra support, and encourage focus, confidence, and participation in lessons. You’ll assist the class teacher by preparing materials, setting up activities, and sharing observations about pupil progress. You’ll also help maintain a safe, organised classroom by promoting positive behaviour and supervising pupils during activities or transitions. Alongside this, you’ll take on light administrative tasks, organise resources, and adapt activities to make sure all pupils can take part. You’ll also support wider school life, including trips, events, and daily routines.
**Role Requirements**
- Level 2/3 in Childcare
- Experience working with children in a school setting
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
- Ability to follow instructions and use your initiative
- Confidence supporting individual pupils or small groups
- Ability to manage behaviour calmly and fairly
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Willingness to learn and complete relevant training (e.g., safeguarding)
