Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
Rate of pay: £425 – £500 – Dependant on experience
Location: Birmingham, Newtown
**About the role**
Connex Education is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive mainstream primary school, working in a dedicated resource space with seven pupils alongside other teaching support staff. The pupils are non-verbal or pre-verbal, with high levels of ASD and some behavioural needs, requiring focused support with speech, language, and social development. You will provide tailored 1-1 and small group support, implement behavioural management strategies, promote positive behaviour, and help pupils regulate their emotions, all within a calm and structured environment. Your role will be key in nurturing their growth, enabling them to make meaningful progress and reach their full potential.

This welcoming primary school serves children aged 4–11 and works closely with parents, carers, and the local community to support pupils’ learning and development. **Role Requirements**
- Supporting Teaching and Learning or Equivalent UK Educational qualification is desirable.
- Previous experience working in Educational is essential.
- A commitment to promoting equality and diversity in the classroom
- Experience supporting SEN is required
- An understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Connex Education.
