The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting both teachers and pupils every day. Depending on your experience and the needs of the school, you may:

• Support learning across EYFS, KS1 or KS2.
• Work one-to-one with pupils or lead small intervention groups.
• Help children build confidence, independence and a love of learning.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Support pupils with a range of additional learning and SEND needs.
• Contribute to creating a positive, safe and nurturing classroom environment.

Full-time opportunities are available Monday to Friday (8:30am–3:30pm), with many schools offering the opportunity to secure a permanent position.

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from candidates who have:

Essential

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or relevant experience supporting children in a school setting.
• GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above), or equivalent.
• A passion for education and helping children achieve their potential.
• A current DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Connex Education.

You’ll also bring:

• A caring, patient and positive approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Confidence supporting children with a range of learning abilities, including SEND.
• Good classroom awareness and behaviour management skills.
• A commitment to safeguarding and professional standards.
• A willingness to learn, develop and grow within the education sector.
