1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Full Time)

Location: Widnes
Start Date: Tuesday 2nd September
Contract: Full-Time | Ongoing Agency Contract
Salary: Competitive daily rate (PAYE)- Payrate dependent on qualification/ experience, must have previous experience and have right to work in the UK.

Connex Education Partnership is seeking an experienced and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Widnes from 2nd September.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and making a positive impact on their educational journey.

The Role

You will provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs within a mainstream primary school, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to help the child achieve their full potential.

Duties include:

• Providing tailored 1:1 classroom support.
• Supporting the child’s learning, communication, emotional wellbeing and independence.
• Implementing strategies set out in the child’s support plan.
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals.
• Providing personal care where required, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
• Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Essential Requirements

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential).
• Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school or similar setting.
• Experience or confidence in providing personal care.
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.
