Teaching Assistant – Moderate Learning Difficulties

I am looking for a Teaching Assistant to start work with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) in September. This is a full time role, working Monday – Friday.

The school provide education to students with MLD. The supportive staff at the school work with students to achieve their full potential and prepare them to attend a mainstream college / adulthood. The school has a calm, orderly environment and their is high expectations of behaviour from all students.

As the successful applicat, you will be working on a 1:1 basis with a year 7 student. You will support the student with their transition from primary to secondary education, providing support emotionally and academically. As this school follow an academic curriculum, you will be expected to support the student in their literacy and maths work. 

In order to apply for this role, you must have a DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for a new one. Any relevant qualifications would be advantaegous when applying for this role, such as Read, Write, Inc Training. Previous experience working in an academic or residential seting is essential.
