About the Role
Connex Education is working with a number of primary schools across Derby City Centre and the wider DE1 area who are seeking Supply Teaching Assistants to support pupils on a flexible basis.
This role will have a strong focus on supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis, including those with additional needs such as SEND, SEMH, or EAL. You may also support small groups and assist the class teacher in maintaining a structured and inclusive learning environment.
This opportunity is well suited to Teaching Assistants or graduates who have experience working with children with additional needs, or those looking to develop their experience within this area.
About the Schools
Our partner schools in the DE1 area are inclusive and supportive, with a strong focus on meeting the needs of all pupils.
They are looking for Teaching Assistants who are patient, adaptable, and able to build strong, consistent relationships with pupils who may require additional support.
Assignment Details
Roles are available immediately, with flexible full-time and part-time opportunities depending on your availability.
Assignments will include a mix of day-to-day support and longer-term 1:1 roles, depending on school requirements and your experience.

Person Specification
• Experience supporting children with additional needs (e.g. SEND, SEMH, EAL) or a strong interest in this area
• Confident working on a one-to-one basis or with small groups
• Patient, resilient, and strong communication skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
