“My name is Julia, and I became a tutor because I love working one-to-one with students. It is incredibly rewarding to see the progress they make and to know that my support can make a real impact on their learning and confidence. My path to becoming a tutor began naturally, long before I ever thought of it as a formal role, I worked in a language school in Japan in my 20’s and that experience shaped my journey into tutoring. Working closely with young learners showed me how powerful personalised guidance can be. In a small group setting, I was able to pay attention to each student’s strengths, challenges, and unique learning style. I enjoyed adapting activities, finding simpler ways to explain new concepts, and creating an environment where students felt comfortable asking questions, even though, English was not their first language. I found real joy in watching their confidence grow and especially when they mastered something that was once difficult.“
