Role: SEN Tutor
Location: Face-to-Face, in Home, In School, In Public Space, Leeds
Hours: Monday to Friday
Contract: Flexible (Term Time)
We are currently seeking an experienced SEN Tutor to join us at Connex Education, we are supporting an increasing number of pupils with SLD and PMLD and are seeking SEN tutors with experience of working with pupils with a wide range of SEND/SEMH This role offers a challenging but rewarding environment where you will play a vital part in ensuring the pupil has the support they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning sessions to meet the needs of the young person, linked to EHCP objectives where relevant, delivering learning through play and planning multi-sensory activities to meet the needs of each pupil
- reporting on pupil progress and attendance.
- Support students’ social and emotional development alongside their academic progress.
- Create a safe, supportive, and encouraging learning environment.
- Collaborate with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure cohesive support.
Essential
- Experience of assisting pupils with severe learning difficulties and/or profound & multiple learning difficulties
- QTS
- Ability to motivate and inspire learners
- A clear vision and understanding of the requirements of pupils with special educational needs
- Ability to work with parents as partners
- Personal resilience
Desirable
- Recognised qualification in the education of pupils with SEN
- Experience of working with pupils in Key Stages N/KS1/KS2 3 4 & 5
- Experience of planning sessions for older pupils who are accessing an alternate curriculum
- Evidence of teaching pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties
- Evidence of training specifically relating to pupils with PMLD
- Experience of ‘intensive interaction’ techniques
- Other qualifications pertinent to supporting pupils with SEND e.g SENCo, Educational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Educational Psychologist
