Primary Teaching Assistant

About the role:
Connex Education are working with a Primary school in Warrington who are recruiting for a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant to work 1-1 with a child who struggles to maintain the routine of daily mainstream school. Experience working 1-1 or with SEN would be great, however it’s more about the relationship between yourself and the pupil.

Our School provides valuable education to pupils aged between 5- 11 . All staff work as a team and are committed to empowering each individual and helping them to develop life skills.
Assignment details:
The role will consist of supporting the pupil in daily life, you will be support buddy and help them build valuable relationships. Working hours are Monday-Friday 8.30am until 3.30pm. We are looking at finding the right person ASAP, however it’s more about finding the perfect bond !. A high level of dedication is required, the role will continue until either the child moves on to a specialist school or until funding is ceased.

Person specification:
- Experience of supporting pupils either in EYFS/KS1/KS2 in a classroom, Nursery or Coaching role, or have experience of working with children.
- Hold level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or equivalent.
- Confident in dealing with challenging behaviour.
- The ability to build relationships with staff and pupils.
- Able to provide a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
