Teacher of Spanish – Secondary School (South Birmingham)
Start Date: After Easter 2025
Contract: Full-time, Maternity Cover
Duration: Until at least December 2025
Salary: £165 – £245 per day (dependent on experience)
Connex Education is seeking a dedicated Teacher of Spanish to join a “Good” secondary school in South Birmingham. The school has excellent student behaviour and a supportive senior leadership team (SLT).
About the Role:
- Teaching KS3 & KS4 Spanish full-time.
- Planning, preparing, and marking work while fully taking on the responsibilities of the absent teacher.
- Long-term position starting after Easter 2025, lasting until at least December 2025.
- The school is looking for someone with recent experience teaching up to KS4 Spanish.
Assignment Details:
- Full-time maternity cover until at least December 2025.
- Paid to scale (MPS1-UPS1).
- Potential for permanent opportunities for the right candidate.
- Applications are welcome from teachers at all career stages, including Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
- The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, committed, and a team player. A positive attitude towards IT and strong self-organisational skills are essential.

Person Specification:
- Previous experience in a challenging secondary school environment is advantageous.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Resilient, calm under pressure, and able to adapt to different teaching challenges.
- QTS / QTLS or equivalent required.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
- An outstanding practitioner with high expectations of student progress and achievement.
