Connex Education is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to support a range of secondary schools across Gloucester and the surrounding areas from September 2026. With both short-term and long-term opportunities available, this role is perfect for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants, or anyone interested in building a career within education.
As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for overseeing lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher, ensuring students remain engaged, productive, and focused on their learning.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Supervising classes across a range of secondary school subjects.
• Delivering pre-planned lesson activities and instructions provided by teaching staff.
• Maintaining positive behaviour and ensuring a productive learning environment.
• Encouraging student participation and engagement throughout lessons.
• Adhering to school policies, safeguarding procedures, and classroom expectations.

What We’re Looking For
• Experience working with young people in any setting is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confidence managing groups of students within a classroom environment.
• Reliable, adaptable, and proactive approach to work.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
