About the role:

Connex Education are working in partnership with a SEND School in Southport who are recruiting for several SEND Teaching Assistants t join their team in September 2026 due to an increase in students.

These roles involve supporting 11-19 year olds with Autism, helping to provide a structures, nurturing and inclusive environment where every student can reach their full potential.

About the School:

This fantastic School is at the heart of the community and is a specialist provision for pupils with EHCP’s that identifies Autism as their primary need. This School offers a diverse curriculum, focused on their individual needs and promotes an academic and social pathway.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant at this School you will respond to individual learning needs, remove barriers to learning and implement effective classroom management and behaviour strategies.

Assignment details:

This is a full-time role and will commence on 2nd September and  will consist of working Monday-Friday 8.30am until 3.30pm. There are direct contracts available after 1 term.

You will be invited to attend an interview and a look around the School. There will be opportunities to work before September to meet the pupils and staff . This is ideal for a SEND Teaching Assistant who has a passion for supporting pupils with Special Needs.

Person specification:

•             Experience of supporting children or young adults with Autism and additional needs

•             Good personal literacy and numeracy skills and use of ICT to support learning

•             Have the ability to work effectively within a team environment

•             Be able to build effective relationships with students and colleagues.

•             Able to provide a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
