About the role:
Connex Education is proud to be working with a respected Multi Academy Trust, supporting a range of primary schools across West Yorkshire. We are seeking a number of SEND Teaching Assistants to join one of our multi academy schools stating from September 2026.
Whether you have experience working within education, care, support work, or have a strong understanding of Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, we can help you find opportunities that align with your skills, availability and career aspirations.
About the School:
We work directly with a large multi academy trust in the north of Sheffield who have several Primary Schools.
Assignment Details:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop confidence and achieve their full potential.
Depending on the assignment, your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting pupils with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, PMLD and SEMH
- Working alongside teachers to deliver engaging learning experiences
- Providing one-to-one and small group support
- Promoting pupil independence, confidence and wellbeing
- Supporting behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
- Encouraging participation in classroom and enrichment activities
- Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and families

Person Specification:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND, SEMH, or additional needs is desirable.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Connex Education.
