Connex Education is looking for enthusiastic, confident, and adaptable students and graduates to work as Secondary Teaching Assistants in secondary schools across Tewkesbury.

As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers to support students aged 11-16 both in and out of the classroom. You’ll help create a positive learning environment, encourage student engagement, and provide valuable support to pupils who need additional guidance throughout the school day.
We provide full training, ongoing guidance, and dedicated support before you begin working in schools, giving you the confidence and skills to succeed from day one.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Supporting teachers in delivering engaging lessons across a range of secondary school subjects.
• Working with individual students and small groups to support their learning and development.
• Encouraging student engagement and promoting positive behaviour in the classroom.
• Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
• Building positive relationships with students aged 11-16.
• Supporting pupils with additional learning needs where required.
• Following school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times.

About You
• A final-year university student or recent graduate from any degree discipline. We particularly welcome applications from those studying Maths, Science, English, Sport, Humanities, Drama, Art, and related subjects.
• A bubbly, engaging, and professional personality.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential.
• Reliable, adaptable, and willing to learn.
• Comfortable working with secondary-aged students (11-16).
• Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential if you have the right attitude, confidence, and enthusiasm.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is advantageous, as some of our partner schools are difficult to access by public transport.
Please Note
Work is offered on a temporary, flexible basis during term time only, with opportunities to work between 2 and 5 days per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm. While work cannot be guaranteed, those who demonstrate reliability and perform well typically have access to regular ongoing assignments throughout the academic year.
