About the School
St Martins School is a specialist academy school in Alvaston, Derby, providing education for young people aged 11-19 with a range of additional needs, including autism and social, emotional and mental health needs. The school provides a supportive and personalised learning environment, helping pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally while preparing them for greater independence and adulthood.
The school was most recently inspected by Ofsted in October 2024. Under the current Ofsted inspection framework, schools are no longer given an overall effectiveness grade. The inspection recognised the school’s specialist provision and approach to supporting pupils with individual needs. The predecessor St Martins School was previously judged Outstanding by Ofsted in 2017
