About the Role
Are you an experienced and caring Behaviour Support professional who enjoys helping children overcome challenges and reach their potential? Connex Education is seeking enthusiastic individuals to support pupils across primary schools in Yeovil.
We can offer a variety of opportunities, from flexible day-to-day supply work to longer-term placements, making this a great option whether you’re looking to build your school-based experience or find work that fits around your existing commitments.
You’ll work closely with teachers and school staff to provide pupils with the support they need to manage their behaviour, develop confidence, and engage positively with their education. If you’re patient, understanding, and passionate about making a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored support to pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social needs.
- Work closely with class teachers and pastoral teams to encourage positive behaviour and engagement.
- Deliver one-to-one and small group support where appropriate.
- Develop positive, respectful relationships with pupils and act as a consistent source of support.
- Encourage pupils to develop appropriate strategies for managing emotions and behaviour.
- Promote a welcoming, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Respond confidently to different pupil needs and school routines.

Job Requirements
- Previous experience supporting children with behavioural or additional needs is desirable.
- Experience within a primary school or similar educational environment is beneficial.
- A genuine commitment to supporting children’s personal, social, and educational development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to establish positive and professional relationships with pupils and school staff.
- A calm, patient, reliable, and adaptable approach.
- Commitment to equality, inclusion, and diversity.
- A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
