About the Role
- Working as a Cover Supervisor across a range of subject areas, with timetables aligned to your experience and specialisms wherever possible.
- Delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher.
- Creating a safe, positive and purposeful learning environment where pupils can learn effectively.
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy.
- Completing lesson feedback for teaching staff, outlining pupil engagement, progress and any key observations.
- Following and adhering to the school’s safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times.
- Supporting pupils to remain engaged and motivated throughout lessons.

Person Specification
To be considered for this role, candidates must have/be able to demonstrate:
- Degree OR GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above for both or equivalent Functional Skill Level 2)
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with pupils and staff.
- Approachable, able to build respectful relationships with pupils.
- Positive and enthusiastic attitude towards supporting pupil progress and school life.
- Good literacy & numeracy skills to support learning and classroom administration.
- The ability to maintain a calm, purposeful learning environment.
- Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional boundaries within a school setting.
- Adaptable and resilient when working across different subjects and year groups.
- Upholds high standards of professional behaviour, presentation, and integrity.
- Open to professional development and constructive feedback.
- Completed the Connex Education/Academize Effective Cover Supervision training course (access will be provided to all suitable applicants).
- Full enhanced DBS certificate
- Completed the Connex Education Onboarding Process
