About the Role
Connex Education is recruiting Supply Teaching Assistants to support primary schools across Allestree, Mackworth, Mickleover and the wider DE22 area from September 2026.
Schools are already planning for the new academic year, making this the ideal time to register and secure flexible work ahead of September.
As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you’ll support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, working alongside class teachers to create positive learning environments, build pupils’ confidence and help them achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
- Assist the class teacher with lesson activities and daily classroom routines.
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement throughout the school day.
- Help pupils access learning and make progress.
- Support pupils with additional learning or behavioural needs where required.

Person Specification
We’re looking for candidates who have:
- Recent experience working with children in a UK primary school or a similar educational setting.
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above.
- Confidence supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, patient approach.
- A reliable, flexible attitude and the ability to adapt to different school environments.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
