About the role
Connex Education is working with a large Trust with schools in Rotherham who are recruiting for a SEND teaching assistant to work with pupils with Autism (ASD) and other SEND needs within the classroom.

The Trust supports SEND schools in and around Rotherham and is fully committed to looking after the needs of all their SEND pupils, aged 3 to 19.
Assignment Details
This role is a full time role and can lead to a permanent position. Hours are between 8:15am – 3:45pm, Monday – Friday (Term time only).
Person Specification
- Experience working with children, preferably with those who have special educational needs, including ASC, ADHD, PMLD and SEMH.
- An understanding of strategies to support children with SEND, such as behavior management techniques, sensory regulation, and communication aids (e.g., Makaton or PECS).
- Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with children who may have challenging behavior or additional needs.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs and a dedication to helping them achieve their full potential.
- Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and training related to SEND.
